PHYSIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF HIGH TEMPERATURE STRESS IN SOME CUCURBIT PLANTS

چکیده
Some cucurbit plants (Cucumis sativus L., Cucurbita pepo Cucumis melo L. and Citrillus lanatus L.) were used for investigating some physiological changes protein patterns under heat stress in plants. Leaf samples exposed tohigh temperatures as follows 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 60°C. Percentage of ion leakage, chlorophyll content, leaf relative water content (RWC) loss turgidity, total soluble (TSP) profiles determined kept at each temperature stage 30 minutes. Ion leakage was increased especially 60°C all cucurbits parallel to the increasement. Total decreased slightly both cucumber cultivars, zucchini, melon cultivars watermelon due high temperatures. The RWC on contrary which increment While TSP with increasement, it not changed zucchini watermelon. In noticeably until 55°C, but significantly When SDS-PAGE examined, many bands observed sizes ranging from 6.5 kDa 211 kDa.

effect of mycorrhizal fungus on some growth and physiological indeices in ‘perllete’ grapevine under high temperature stress
high temperature is the most important limiting factor for plant growth in many regions. this problem is very serious because of a heading global warming phenomenon. so study of high temperature effects on different cultivars and species and finding out solution to improve plant tolerance is necessary. in this research, effect of mycorrhizalarboscular fungus on some physiological traits of grap...
متن کاملANTISPASMODIC EFFECTS OF SOME IRANIAN MEDICINAL PLANTS
Alcoholic and water extracts of many medicinal plants are commonly used in German folk medicine and other countries as antispasmodics. However, so far no data on dose relationships or comparisons of the antispasmodic effects with reference substances have been available for most of these plant extracts. Using acetylcholine as the stimulating agent, the antispasmodic effect of preparations ...
متن کاملEffects of seed pretreatment with 24-brassinolide on physiological and biochemical characters in tomato plants under salt stress
In order to study the diverse effects of seed priming with 24-epibrassinolide (EBL) (0, 0.1, 1 mg/l) to increase tolerance of tomato plants (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) to salinity (0, 70 and 140 mM NaCl), the experiments were conducted as factorial based on completely randomized design at greenhouse condition. Results showed that salt stress significantly decreased the growth of tomato plan...
متن کاملPlants under Climatic Stress: I. Low Temperature, High Light Effects on Photosynthesis.
Photosynthetic rates of both C(4)- and C(3)-pathway plants grown at 25 C were measured before and during a period of chilling stress at 10 C, and then again at 25 C following various periods at 10 C. When temperatures are first lowered photosynthetic rates drop immediately, then undergo a further reduction which is quite rapid in species such as Sorghum, maize, and Pennisetum; slower in soybean...
